Our experience delivering customized solutions for the aggregate industry is worldwide. Foss provides the open ocean lighterage of over 1.4 million tons of zinc and lead ore concentrate to support Teck Cominco’s Red Dog Mine, north of the Arctic Circle. For this project, Foss developed specialized equipment, including two self-unloading barges, which were specifically designed to transport the ore concentrates from the Red Dog Mine port to ships anchored offshore. With innovative engineering, Foss also developed the first open-roadstead loading of dry bulk cargo in the world.
